New appliances, floors, counters and fixtures were added to this Wisconsin kitchen...but it is the bright white paint that made all of the difference. (above)
Somehow was twiddling around the internet the other day and browsing through some other interior design blogs and fell upon Fixing it Fancy. Turns out blogger Angela just finished a fabulous kitchen remodel in her Wisconsin home. Loved the remodel photos so much that I asked if I could do a post on Cococozy. Angela said yes and here we are.
Basically, this remodel is about paint, new counters and new floors and tah-dah...a dark outdated kitchen gets a new life.
Before, kitchen featured dark wood cabinets with fabric inserts in the doors, a checkered floor and a mish mosh of wall paper. (above)
After, the kitchen cabinets are the same...they are just painted a bright fresh white. Dark walnut floors replace the black and white checker linoeleum to finish off the space. (above and below)
The remodel was inspired by the kitchen featured in the 2003 Diane Keaton, Jack Nicholson movie "Something's Gotta Give" - a kitchen that I think inspired many a remodel. Love the fact that Angela found her glamourous fantasy inspiration and managed to make it a reality!

Seriously, I don't believe it! I had to keep scrolling back and forth between the before and after to compare. I love it when people make do with what they have and hit it outta the ball park. Fabulous!

Such a great, simple transformation with huge effect! The white just sparkles and the walnut floor is the perfect note!
