WEEKEND PHOTO: A PLEASANT ALCOVE!

Seating area with tall bay windows with plantation shutters, wood framed settee and armchairs upholstered in shades of light blue

I like this little alcove. A great nook. Tall bay windows with plantation shutters, a cute wood frame settee and armchairs all upholstered in shades of light blue fabric, white walls, dark wood floors...all comes together to make this cute little neatly appointed sitting area very pleasant.

I like a lot. I love the windows.

What do you think...I wonder?

Hope you are having a fab weekend!

  1. Lovely and calm perfect little punch with the orange flowers...it's looking like turquoise IS the colour this year!

  2. If you can call it an alcove, what could possible be wrong with it? I love all alcoves! I love the name, alcove. This one is perfect. :)

  3. I love the orange and turquoise combination. Peaceful! I would be tempted to put up some window coverings, maybe a valance, depending on what the rest of the room looked like and what the view is outside. I have the Dream Draper program by Evan Marsh and with a snapshot of this room we could superimpose several different styles/fabric choices. Its a fun and very useful way to visualize before making any committment. I design and fabricate drapes so I may be a little bit biased! :) Cheers Christine

  4. I like it all....except the rug. I would rather see a soft stripe. Maybe in light jewel tones.

  5. Interesting to see these cool colors used without looking like a child's room. Have been considering using these cooler colors for my workspace, but it's just a little bland for my taste, and I agree with OHN, the rug doesn't work for me.

I'd be interested in suggestions for making this palette even more sophisticated and complex.

  6. I used to sell window treatments and always got excited when people decided to go with plantation shutters. Such a classic look that is worth the investment!
