I personally look GREAT in royal blue if I do say so myself (self promotion and hubris at its best (or worst)...hee hee). Lucky for me and maybe a few more of you that royal blue is back in a big way. Royal blue has been spotted generously on the fashion runways of New York and Paris for fall and spring - this shade of blue seems to be a favored choice of style mavens and trendsetters as of late! No shortage of blue for the rest of this year and next.

Love this bright rich shade of azure...I think it is alluring and cheerful all at the same time. If worn right or used in your home correctly it can be daringly sophisticated too.

Here are a few royally blue rooms and boldy blue clothes for you to ponder today!

How does royal blue look on you? Would you ever use it in your home?

Happy Thursday!

P.S. Join along on COCOCOZY TWITTER too because I'll be doing a great giveaway just for Twitter followers very soon!

  2. I have blue eyes, so royal blue looks great on me too! My home is near the ocean in Boston, so I have a "nautical" theme throughout. I usually lean towards dark navy, but occasionally have a royal blue sprinkled in (my shower curtain, picture frames, a vase all have that color included). love it!

thanks for sharing the great runway pics - love the tracy reese dress!

  3. I tried to use royal blue in my hallway. It did not turn out well. Looked very 'primary colors'. I think I made a few mistakes with not getting the right color royal blue, and I don't think I used the right finish.

So- I am back to the slate gray.

I still have half a gallon left, and will need to figure out what to do with it later.

  4. I LOVE blue. Navy blue has always been my preferred "black" for evening (when I can find it). I LOVE blue in the home too -- our kitchen and family room (most lived in spaces) are all blue and white. We live near the water, so I like creating a beachy feel in our little cottage. So, happy it's "in" time to stock up.

    Thanks for the great piece!

  5. Combined with black in a home...very chic!

  6. Coco you read my mind (or I read yours?)... At a recent stay at the Grammercy Park Hotel in NYC I was inspired by the most amazing french wingback chair and throw blanket -both in a rich royal blue velvet -so sexy! (Have you seen these?) I'm over gray at this point so I chose royal blue as the theme color for my new apt. I'll send you pics when I'm done! xoxo :)

  7. I will definitely wear it! As for interiors- fabric is easier than paint; it's a tough color to get right so that it doesn't look like a kid's room. I'd go for pillows, chairs, bedding; the list goes on!

  8. That flowy blue frock is gorgeous

  9. I'm a big fan of royal blue - happy it's back!!

  10. I love royal blue! I just wore a beautiful dress to an outdoor wedding and it was a hit! Great photos!
