COLOR WATCH: SUN KISSED - JUST A TOUCH OF YELLOW!

Photo: Krista Ewart Design

Love just a little yellow here and there. Not too much...not too little...just a touch of yellow can add just the right amount of cheer to a room or to a look.

My grandmother's favorite color was yellow. Her kitchen was yellow. My grandmother was always cheerful and happy and positive. It was definitely in her nature to be that way...and naturally a cheerful person would pick a sunny yellow as their favorite color!

I don't currently have ANY yellow in my tiny little cottage in the Hollywood Hills. Need to add some yellow...even if it is just a beautiful yellow bloom. Hmmm...considering just a touch!

What do you think about adding a touch of yellow to your space? Do you like yellow or do you hate? Would love to know!

Happy Thursday!

Hi, Like you I don't have any permanent yellow items in my house, but comes summer...and I find myself bringing yellow flowers into the house, buying yellow mugs for morning coffee and adding bright yellow cushions on the white sofas for an added touch of brightness! I suppose it's also a way of making a seasonal change in my decor...it's good for the soul! Enjoy your yellow!

I've got yellow accents too, especially in the kitchen... a favorite antique tray with lemons hand-painted on it. Yellow makes me happy :)

I don't have any permanent yellow accessories. But when I need a "yellow" fix, I just buy some tulips or roses. Perfect accessory.

This is right up my alley! I'm such a big fan of a touch of yellow. I decided to incorporate it into our new house we are building and just had some wishbone chairs refinished in yellow!

Yellow is one of my favorite colors! It took me a while to appreciate yellow, not sure why. But now it is a color that cheers me up, and I would love to add a touch of yellow here and there in my home. In fact, thanks for the reminder! Maybe a yellow cushion for the sofa should be next on my list.

A giant glass bowl full of lemons is the simplest way to add that touch! Then if you get bored or use them all,
you can change it for limes or oranges. Voila!

I agree! Yellow is such a lovely color in splashes. One of the other things I love most about yellow is that it actually blends remarkably well with so many other colors!

Yellow has never been my favorite color as a designer but splashes of it as seen here are absolute perfection. Add a painting or accessory, etc...to add that special punch. Thanks for the great article...Sorelle Design

Because I live in the middle of the woods, yellow helps to off-set so much of the green trees and green grass, etc. It softens with the glow of candle light and torches, etc. I love to soften it even further with beige hints, soft cream roses, etc. Debi

I am not a yellow fan but I do like those chairs! I may have to get some in a different color for my studio! Thanks for sharing.
