SEE THIS HOUSE: BARN RAISING STYLE!

Okay...is it weird that I love a great repurposed barn?  I just do.  I've been featuring a lot of transformed barns lately for no apparent reason except that I'm totally drawn to them.  Hmmmm...

Anyhoooo...love this Canadian barn that was moved Connecticut and then remodeled into a fantastic living space.  An imported barn where modern meets rustic and does so beautifully.  I think I love the high ceilings in most of these barns...or maybe it is just the rough hewn touches that I find so appealing.  Take a look!

A hide rug and sleek club chairs make for a perfect sitting area in front of the main living room's fireplace with its steel mantel and flagstone chimney. (above)

Wide plank wood floors and exposed beam ceilings nicely contrast with the modern zinc counter tops and the marble mosaic backsplash in the home's stylish Shaker style kitchen. (above)

The woven rocking chairs and the canopy bed all hint to a simple Shaker style that is seen throughout the home. Love the open shelving with baskets too. (above)

The guest house is bright, light and airy! (above)
So the question is...would you take this barn house or leave it?  I would take take take!

Happy Monday!

Lovely, but a little over-renovated for my taste. I would have left more original, rustic features....

I'll take it in a flash. My house is a former stable, but lacking the soaring ceiling. Would move in any day.

I love this style, and am glad that you're drawn to so much rusticity lately too. The first photo has long been a favorite of mine, but I've never seen the rest of the house. Great post!

Thank you Coco. This is the best yet.
Indescribably real, authentic and beautiful. You can actually see a much bigger sense of the Love.
I'm saving this one.

If I won the lottery, I would totally buy an old barn and make it a home. I love old barns! So much character.

I have always loved a transformed barn; the open space, the rustic qualities, the repurposing of something old. . . It's just all-around awesome! And this one is particularly gorgeous. Total dream home.
