IN STYLE WITH COLOR BLOCKING!

Living room with color block curtains, a stone fireplace, dueling facing sofas, exposed beam ceilings, and a large coffee table

Color blocking for the home and in fashion. Large blocks of color blended together in one piece.

I like this living room and I LOVE this dress! The drapes in the living room are a classic example of color block for the home. The dress is the cool way to color block in fashion...not too over the top but a nice blending of bold big blocks of color into one piece of clothing. Love love love the dress. Going for a walk up and down the canyon this morning so I can be in tip top shape to wear something like this during the summer!

I don't know where the color blocking trend started...in the home or in fashion...but I know it is huge in the stores right now.

What do you think of these two looks...do you like the drapes in the living room? Do you like the dress? If so why? If not, why not? Would love to hear what you think! Please weigh in!

Happy Saturday!

P.S. Had a great lunch with long time best of guy friend AB yesterday. He came to my office and we spent a few hours catching up. It was so fun. I've picked well over the years!!!

P.P.S. Washing machine broke yesterday...oy.

P.P.P.S. Must spend the weekend catching up on so much work for COCOCOZY...but it is GORGEOUS here...hope I am not too tempted to leave work behind and enjoy the weekend!! We'll see! :-)

P.P.P.P.S.  Does anyone know whether colorblock is one word or two words (color block)?

P.P.P.P.P.S.  Almost at 50,000 followers on COCOCOZY Facebook!  Woot woot.  Join along there if you haven't already...I try to put up some extra photos from time to time and you get the daily blog post updates there too!

  2. Oh yes, love the room! Love the dress too (or is it just that I love the idea of ever being able to get into a dress that small, with horizontal lines)!

As for the editing question, I would say color block, two words, but hyphenated when using as a modifier, as in color-block fabric.

  3. I could completely do those curtains. I hadn't thought of adding the blue at the bottom also. Makes it more complete, in my opinion! And the dress?! Yes! That one reminds me of what Catherine Mandelino is doing these days.

  7. Love the use of the blue on the drapes. This dress is adorable and could certainly take the place of the "little black dress".
